Ccasa Ccoyo, named for farmer Agustin Ccasa Ccoyo, comes to us through the Valle Inca producer group. Valle Inca is located in the Yanatile Valle, in the south of Peru. The group was founded and is still run by Prudencio Vargas Saenz, a former agricultural loan officer who had been running Valle Inca as a loose collective, buying parchment from local farmers at higher prices than they could previously count on selling their lots for individually and giving them the benefits of his knowledge and reach. Prudencio formalized Valle Inca as a producer group in 2020. It currently boasts membership of more than 100 farmers and continues to grow.
Ccasa Ccoyo has nice medium notes- golden raisins, a floral nose, and some juicy plum. It makes for a great morning into afternoon coffee, it has the refinement and elegance we like for an after lunch sipping coffee.
