Yanamayo comes to us from Abdon Luis Tipula, a producer who has been growing in the Sandia Valley of Puno for 11 years. The Sandia Valley is a large region in the south of Peru, close to the Bolivian border; a massive valley containing many smaller valleys within it. In the 1980s, the United Nations sponsored a replanting project within the Sandia Valley, resulting in a large amount of Bourbon varietal being planted.
This coffee has a nourishing, earthy quality to it that makes the cup feel especially full. It's sweet, with moderate body, and satisfying nuttiness - buttery like a macadamia nut.
