Esperanza - Peru

Ms. Esperanza Coronado is a producer that lives in Las Palmas, near the Barro Negro sector of La Coipa, a significant coffee growing region of Cajamarca. She is involved in every aspect of her production, both during and after harvest, improving her quality year after year because she is a member of Alpes Andinos Association, a growers’ association (cooperative) of about 150 members in the Cajamarca region north of the city of Jaén. Alpes Andinos works with their allied producers to improve quality through workshops, trainings, cuppings and access to agronomists who monitor soil health and best practices for improved varieties, etc. Yellow Rooster has been working with Alpes Andinos since 2019, and this is our third year purchasing Esperanza’s harvest.
