Peaberry - Brazil

A fun new offering from our friends at Daterra. Despite having working with Daterra for over ten years, this our first time with their peaberry. Coffee cherries typically have two seeds pressed against each other inside the fruit of the cherry, giving coffee beans their distinctive look with one round side and one flat side. The peaberry on the other hand only has one seed inside the coffee cherry and consequently develops in a rounder fashion. Because of the difference in shape, peaberries roast differently than standard coffee beans and are therefore separated from other beans, collected, and sold in separate lots. Only a very small percentage of coffee cherries produce peaberries, and so we're very excited to share this exciting coffee with all of you.
